Recently, Tama had a month-long exhibition at the art center in Sidney, Montana. This is one of the pieces from that show. For this event she wanted to create a distinctive look. And this wonderful bowl with its spirited colors and patterns is certainly evidence of that. This is a Hand Built Bowl. It is different from a wheel-thrown piece in that it starts out as a rolled slab, then given its shape by patiently tucking, rolling, and rounding the clay. On the bottom are clay feet padded with felt, so it can set softly on fine furniture. This is a wonderful piece both for decorating and serving. It is signed and dated with an inscribed signature.
